An Italian historian, Carlo Ginzburg is  a pioneer of microhistory. Currently he is Professor Emeritus at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa and also teaches at University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests range from the Italian Renaissance to early modern European history. Carlo Ginzburg is also famous for his suggestions for the theory of microhistory. His The Cheese and the Worms: The  Cosmos of a Sixteenth-Century Miller is the best known microhistorical work worldwide.
